Winston

1/2/2014

Winston was brought to us with a life threatening, autoimmune illness at the age of 6 weeks, weighing only 9 pounds.  He presented with the inability to walk or even stand.  Following an exam by Dr. Knowles of Veterinary Neurological Center, he was diagnosed with Polyradiculoneuritis, an unusual autoimmune disease of dogs.  Winston required many months of care to strengthen his muscles and teach him to walk again.  With the help of swim therapy by Jeffrey Flocker and Canine Physical Rehabilitation of the Southwest LLC, a wheel chair, braces on his front legs and 24/7 care by our doctors who fostered him for his first several months, he learned to walk and then run!  Now, Winston is one year old and is thriving in his forever home at 140 pounds!
